Recently Free2B! was featured in the Blaine-Spring Lake Park Life for a rather unique story. One of the vehicles donated to us was used to help a mother whose daughter had a health condition that required her to make frequent trips to various hospitals. Once her daughter was well she was able to return to school, become a teacher and purchase a new car.
Then she gave up her car in order to save money for the treatments, procedures and surgeries her daughter so desperately needed.
Life was tough and about to get tougher, but then in 2007, thanks to Free2B! she was the grateful recipient of a 1996 Ford Windstar minivan.
She then decided to share her good fortune and donate the original vehicle back to Free2Be! so that it could be placed with another individual in need. Which is exactly what happened. At our most recent ‘Car Care Saturday’ the vehicle was given to a new recipient. A mother of four who had no means of transportation.
Gabreal donated her minivan back to Free2B! which then presented it to Hintisar Osman during a Nov. 6 car giveaway event at Victory Auto, Fridley.
“I’m so happy. This means everything,” said Hintisar, the mother of four children ages nine, six, four and two with another one on the way.
“I always had to ask for ride. Take the bus. It’s very hard. I had no car for a long time,” she said.
